Spring shines at the garden

The Desert Botanical Garden. If you live in Phoenix, you have got to visit it at least once a year. We went in the morning in order to avoid the hottest part of the day.

It is a beautiful place to be in ...

The explorers

Armed with free passes, we went on a quick trip to the Phoenix Art Museum.

The explorers.

Exhibits on loan are not to be photographed, but I was approached by the guard after taking these.

Love this one. Human life in the midst of glorious nature.

An oriental armoir.

These miniature rooms were my favorite.

Keeping chaos inside a ball.

Fear.

The famous horse.

In the lobby.

I enjoyed this field trip. Summer break is officially here and these trips are fun and add excitement to an otherwise unscheduled day.

O que andas a fazer?

Summer was always so much fun in Mozambique.
My routines here follow the rhythms of the girls' school schedule. Summer break has started and the river's course changes.
We roamed the neighborhood inventing games and exploring the fields, breaking rules only occasionally.

On with summer ...

A father's love

He taught them to play Monopoly.

He sits for endless hours with a game where properties sell for 6 million dollars.

The everlasting effects of this kind of love are monumentally good for their soul.

The feel of cold water

I call this "the secret garden" in my neighborhood.

It is on the grounds of a catholic church.

Everything about it is soothing.

The girls played.

I enjoyed the cold water on my feet. It was an amazing sensation after a long day of hard work.

The flowers were happy too.

The sound of water moving and falling lulls me to dreamland.

We admired the tree and considered climbing it.

And the sound continues...
