The Golden Gate Bridge

San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge is a favorite in our house. This time, we saw it from a boat, and learned a lot of about its construction. I also like all bridges leading to Manhattan. I like little bridges, and big bridges. Bridges bridge bridges. No? I bridge, do you?

Let there be light

Although I am very comfortable in the dark, the sparks of a magnificent light fixture, fill my soul. These are a few I saw recently.

Santa Barbara, CA, a gardener's paradise. Oh, the things that grow there.

The strip

The Excalibur

My definition of sensible shoes always leaves me with a blister or two. One really has to wear those shock absorbing sneakers if walking around the strip is on one's to do list.

One set of characters

A friend

The assignment was to create a character based on someone you knew or create one using your imagination.

I always hope that being allowed to create and having room in one's life to imagine will have the effect of building open minded beings... Did you have room to imagine and dream?

Happy

Making cards can be a massive production that includes having handy one's cutting board, the inks, the stamps, the scissors, a boat load of paper, stamp cleaning pad, and the book of ideas. The hardest part is creating the card, not copying what someone else has already done. I can name 2 instances when I was fully pleased with my creations. The above are ok. What would you do if you received a hand made card? Would you trash it, or place it in a box of treasures?

What to do on a 116 degree summer day...

Lets go see that exhibit I read about in the paper... Yes, it will be one more item off the To Do list... Wait, we have to do the gold thing outside? Gasp... can I sit somewhere and just ponder how you young people find panning for gold on a 116 degree day fascinating...?
From the courtyard in the back.
Can you see the muscles work?
